Veterinary Assistant

Youngsville Animal Hospital is seeking a Full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our growing clinic family.

Duties Include, but not limited to:

Maintain proper animal care including feeding, watering, and providing clean bedding.

• Medicate animals as directed by the veterinarian by administering oral (liquid or pills), injections (SQ, IM, or IV) and SQ fluids.
• Ensure proper restraint of animals in and out of exam room when required.
• Maintain proper order of supplies such as syringes/needles, medications, surgical and bandage supplies, etc.
• Ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation of entire hospital; including grounds, sidewalks, and parking lot.
• Be competent in the operation of all laboratory, radiological equipment, anesthesia equipment, and testing material.
• Be able to perform dental prophylaxis on dogs and cats, as well as be able to properly set up for any necessary medical procedures including surgeries.
• Provide customer service with a friendly and helpful manner.

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Veterinary Technician Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
