Position Overview:
The Philanthropy Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the agency’s revenue-generating efforts and fundraising initiatives. In addition, the PC is responsible for individual and corporate fundraising, donor development and relations, grant writing, social media, event planning and execution, and gift processing/donor acknowledgment, while also supporting the efforts of the Director of Development in Philanthropy to cultivate and steward donors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior experience in development/fundraising and social media
- Two or more years experience demonstrating success in donor relations and cultivation, grant writing, event planning, and fundraising campaigns
- Excellent writing skills, organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, oral and written communication skills, including willingness and ability to speak with prospects and donors
- Familiarity with MS Office applications and the Windows environment
- Experience with donor database systems desirable
- Ability to work independently and as a team member with initiative and flexibility
- Previous nonprofit philanthropy and event planning experience highly preferred
- Valid IL driver's license
- Reliable transportation (proof of insurance may be needed)
