About YSB: YSB’s ultimate focus is to ensure all youth have access to safety, shelter and the opportunity to succeed. We do this through offering an array of services including a 24/7/365 emergency shelter, Safe Station. The shelter provides safe shelter to runaway and homeless youth, and youth placed by the Department of Child Services or juvenile probation. YSB is a hands-off restraint-free facility operating 3 shifts of round-the-clock care and supervision of youth who are experiencing homelessness or crisis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Some preference given for those seeking a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field. Some experience working with youth is desired.
- Ability to organize and implement plans, excellent oral & written communication skills. Work with diverse populations and the ability to handle crisis situations while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance at agency required level, and the ability to pass drug screen, including a physical and tuberculosis test, and comprehensive background checks.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES – SUMMARY*
- Working closely with the shelter supervisor, you will oversee daily operations and enforce all rules, policies and procedures of the shelter and its residents. Screen, assess and document incoming calls and completes intakes of residents. Assist supervisor with preparing for monitor visits by funding and licensing sources.
- You will provide recreational programming and services, plan and facilitate individual and group life skills development, and make referrals or contact social agencies as needed.
- You will be responsible for completing daily documentation: progress notes, reports, intakes/exits, statistics, and other documentation as required.
- You will stay current with trainings which include but are not limited to: CPR, CPI, 1st Aid, DCS reporting, Trauma Informed Care, etc…
- All other duties as assigned by the shelter supervisor.
