Job Summary: Performs general custodial tasks, responsible for repairs and general maintenance of all buildings, grounds and equipment associated within the agency. Works under general supervision with some latitude in organizing and completing assigned tasks. This employee will ensure compliance with safe work practices and maintain safe environments in compliance with established agency standards, licensing regulations and generally accepted practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors general appearances and hygiene of buildings and grounds and performs custodial duties including replenishment of towels and soap, empty trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.
- Monitors buildings, grounds, and equipment, identifies and reports to supervisor the general maintenance needs and performs related maintenance and repair tasks
- Maintain records and submits reports related to building, grounds, maintenance and equipment.
- Maintain care for all equipment, tools, and maintenance supplies
- Request in advance from supervisor all needed supplies and maintains a supply inventory
- Report any repair and improvement needs or hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Performs tasks necessary to maintain building and grounds
- Perform tasks to services, repair, and maintain buildings, equipment, appliances, plumbing, electric, carpentry, etc.
- Responsible for compliance with fire, health, and safety standards
- Ensure vehicles are in good operating condition
- Follow work order requests and report progress to supervisor
- Maintain positive relationship with clients and staff
- Attend training as assigned
- Respond to on-call maintenance emergencies
- Employees are required to use their personal vehicles in certain circumstances and as directed in the performance of their duties
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be able to work alone without immediate supervision
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Capable of servicing the upkeep, and minor/moderate mechanical repair of agency equipment, appliances, vehicles
- Capable of performing custodial work when necessary
- Knowledgeable of basic concepts, practices and procedures associated with performing the job
- Capable of servicing the upkeep, and repair of agency equipment, appliances, plumbing, electric, and carpentry, etc.
- Capable of performing basic repairs and maintenance not requiring certifications
- Capable of operating machinery/tools relevant to the job
- Capable of heavy work
- Valid Driver's License
- Good interpersonal skills
Education and Experience:
- Requires Highschool Diploma/ G.E.D or 1-3 years of experience in field or related area
- Must have valid driver’s license
