YSS is proud to introduce an opportunity to join our team as a Youth Rehousing Advocate. Our Rapid Rehousing Program focuses on providing assistance to non-system involved individuals, aged 18 to 25, who are seeking stability and independence. As a Youth Rehousing Advocate, you will engage directly with clients, offering personalized support to help them achieve educational, employment, and independent living goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of housing barriers faced by homeless individuals and formulate strategies to address their housing and service requirements, aiming for self-sufficiency and housing stability.
- Engage in mediation and advocacy with landlords to establish viable plans for securing and maintaining housing for clients.
- Assist clients in identifying suitable housing options, coordinating moves, and facilitating access to necessary furnishings through our Free Store initiative.
- Ensure rent payment and conduct regular maintenance checks for program apartments.
- Provide information and referrals to appropriate social service agencies and community programs, as well as aid clients in establishing bank accounts and budgeting effectively.
- Collaborate with clients to set short-term and long-term goals, regularly evaluating progress and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Undertake proactive home visits to ensure stability and integration within the community post-program completion.
- Offer transportation assistance to support clients in meeting their case plan objectives.
- Educate clients about local public transportation resources and impart essential independent living skills.

Compensation:
- Competitive annual compensation of up to $34,000.

- Associate's degree in social work or related human services field with at least four years of direct youth work experience OR
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related human services field with two or more years of direct youth work experience
- At least 21 years old with a valid driver's license to meet requirements to drive agency vehicles.
Salary : $17 - $34,000
