Position Summary:
Serve as primary counselor and advocate for village-based community Health Aides/Practitioners (CHA/Ps) and working in coordination with Health Aide Support/ Critical Incident Stress Management Program Clinical Coordinator and the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) response teams.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in human services or related field. CISM certified trainer preferred.
- 2 years of experience working with adults and children in a Behavioral Health (BH) setting crisis intervention experience preferred.
- BH certification required.
- Must have basic computer knowledge, and standard office equipment usage skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and ability to formulate and document its Five Axis diagnostic format
- Ability to provide crisis BH assessment and referral information and support to adults in various states of emotional and mental turmoil.
- Excellent human relations
- Ability to direct and coordinate staff and staff training and development
- Good verbal/written communications skills, word processing, spreadsheets
- Ability to treat clients and co-workers courteously and fairly.
- Knowledge and understanding of the impact of crisis, mental illness and emotional distress on individuals and their families.
- Respect for the well-being and safety of individuals with mental and emotional impairments.
