Engagement and Recruitment Specialist
Purpose Statement
The job of an Engagement and Recruitment Specialist is a shared position between Human Resources and Communications and is done for the purpose/s of supporting the marketing, communications and engagement efforts of the district while also providing assistance to the delivery of human resource services with specific responsibility in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees to the district.
This job reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources and Communications Coordinator.
Essential Functions
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: preparing and maintaining accurate records; planning and managing projects; operating standard office equipment; multi-tasking, utilizing pertinent software applications; applying job-related codes, regulations and laws, utilizing online social media platforms, photography, videography and operating graphic producing software.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: standard office software; office methods and procedures; business telephone etiquette; strong concepts of grammar and punctuation.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment. The ability to multi-task and perform various job functions at different levels of responsibility. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: maintaining confidentiality; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; working with detailed information; adapting to changing priorities; and working with frequent interruptions; working as part of a team.

Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; providing information and/or advising others; operating within a defined budget; Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20 % walking, and 20% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. This position will require driving between various schools and departments on several days of the week depending on calendared events.
Experience Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.

Engagement and Recruitment Specialist
Purpose Statement
The job of an Engagement and Recruitment Specialist is a shared position between Human Resources and Communications and is done for the purpose/s of supporting the marketing, communications and engagement efforts of the district while also providing assistance to the delivery of human resource services with specific responsibility in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees to the district.
This job reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources and Communications Coordinator.
- Responsible to perform a wide variety of marketing and multimedia functions (e.g. website, newsletters, social media, photography, videography, graphic design, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring district communication and community parent engagement outcomes are achieved.
- Manages district web pages through the development of content; monitors and assists schools/departments with their web page information and design in order to enhance the online experience for users.
- Coordinates assigned projects and/or activities (e.g. presentations, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects and/or activites and/or directing services in a timely manner.
- Works with the school-based communication liaisons to support the district communication and outreach efforts.
- Collaborates with the Communications Coordinator on district communication, marketing and engagement strategies and goals.
- Participates in various district-level committees that promote community and employee engagement, employee recognition, and recruitment efforts.
- Assists with employment process (e.g. callbacks, scheduling interviewing, notification, screening, position control, etc.) for the purpose of meeting district staffing requirements while complying with established guidelines.
- Conducts new employee orientation (e.g. introducing personnel, payroll, and/or benefit policies; assisting with enrollment forms, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring employees are knowledgeable of current practices and administrative processes.
- Compiles data from a variety of sources (e.g. applicants, employees, benefit carriers, outside agencies, professional growth activities, contracts, resignations, letters of assurance, etc.) for the purpose of complying with financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.
- Maintains a variety of employment files (applicants, eligibility lists, certificates, transcripts, etc.) and records, compiling pertinent employee information (salary, probationary period, eligibility, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of employee's compensation, maintaining eligibility for position and complying with mandated requirements.
- Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, faxing, answering and screening calls, issuing contracts, creating spreadsheets, preparing Board reports, entering data into Visions, etc.) for the purpose of supporting department staff and providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Prepares a variety of reports, documents and correspondence of a confidential and non-confidential nature (e.g. social media analytics reports, website traffic summaries, new hire tracking, job postings, etc.) for the purpose of providing documentation of activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information in compliance with administrative guidelines and/or regulatory requirements.
- Processes documents and materials (e.g. presentations, social media campagins, applications, changes in employment status, payroll changes, resignations, terminations, transcripts, position transfers, certification, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
- Responds to written and verbal inquires from a variety of internal and external sources (e.g. media, community stakeholders, applicants, employees, public agencies, parents, etc.) for the purpose of facilitating communication amongst parties, providing information and/or providing direction.
- Serves as a resource to others for the purpose of explaining procedures conveying and/or receiving information as needed for the planning, developing and evaluating of services.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
