WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
YWCA Princeton is seeking an Equity Coordinator to help advance the organization's mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Efforts include organizing, promoting, and supporting in-person and online events, campaigns, and education and awareness activities focused on furthering mission objectives within the Princeton community.
This individual will grow partnerships within the community, professionally represent YWCA Princeton at appropriate community meetings and events, and work to inspire action within our community. They will participate within a dynamic and interactive team of staff members, volunteers, board members, and community supporters. In addition to aligning with the organization's mission, this individual will also have a strong understanding of racial and social justice issues and their intersectionality. An ideal candidate is comfortable breaking down and conveying complex topics to a variety of audiences, is comfortable and clear with written and verbal skills and is able to manage more than one project at a time.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
With support and guidance provided by the Director of Mission Advancement, the essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinate online and in-person events, activities, and campaigns for the department.
- Maintain regular communication with participants and community members to ensure engagement with racial advocacy programming.
- Foster relationships with community partners and stay informed about local issues.
- Support organization engagement in key mission related community events and tabling opportunities.
- Further mission understanding through community presentations and panel discussions.
- Contribute towards organization's social media, blog, website, reports, newsletter, and print materials.
- Foster relationships with area youth and schools to ensure youth are at the forefront of our work.
- Assist with additional projects and all other duties as needed or assigned and deemed necessary to further agency's mission within the organization and community.

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
- Two years of directly related grassroots experience preferred
- Flexible schedule to attend events and programs outside of regular working hours as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and gender backgrounds
- Ability to build authentic relationships with local racial, socio-economic, and gender diverse communities
- An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias; and a genuine commitment to equity and inclusion
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities at once
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and manage conflict
- Ability to think and plan strategically
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Bilingual preferred
- Knowledge of other organizations and community partners in area preferred
Salary : $18 - $20
