Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Virtualization Systems Administrator to support a complex, multi-site IT infrastructure based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This role is centered around Windows and Red Hat Linux-based High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters and includes support for secure lab environments, classified networks, and future integration of embedded Linux systems like VxWorks.

- Design and implement secure system architectures using best practices in software and systems engineering
- Provide end-to-end IT support across desktops, servers, and virtualized environments
- Manage system access, patching, and hardware/software release planning
- Administer and maintain Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and automate tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell)
- Support classified networks and ensure compliance with RMF/JSIG security standards
- Integrate and maintain applications and infrastructure in secure environments
- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (CI Poly within the last 5 years)
- 5 years of experience supporting lab/test environments and classified networks
- Strong background in Linux and Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with IT hardware, networking equipment, and HPC systems
- The ability to stand up virtual Linux environments
- Security certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Deep experience with RHEL, Windows Server/Desktop, VMware, and Active Directory
- Experience with Embedded Linux
- Familiarity with Group Policy Objects (GPOs), PowerShell scripting, and Agile methodologies
- Experience with system backups, patching, and COTS software
- Knowledge of RMF/JSIG compliance and secure system integration
- Salary: $140,000 - $205,000 (based on experience and education)
