Zachry Engineering Corporation, (ZEC) is seeking a Field Mechanical Engineer to join its collaborative team in Omaha, NE. The ideal candidate will work on construction sites and be responsible for monitoring construction activities associated with building industrial facilities. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills and often involves working closely with construction crews and resolving issues that arise during construction. This position is open to locations in the East Coast, Central Region, and the Gulf Coast of the USA and will require the incumbent to travel to the field to oversee the construction site.

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Experience with shop and field erected tanks and piping design/installation.
- Review construction drawings and specifications, and ensure the contractor performs installations according to the design documents and specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors and home office engineers on the contractor's request for information.
- Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 4 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
- Engineer in Training Certification or Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
- Experience with field erected tank installations.
- Experience with piping design and installation.
- Experience with ASME B31.1.
- Ability to travel and work from the construction site, per diem allowance will be provided.
- Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills (Verbal and Written).
Physical demands
- Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems.
- Position will include work at construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
- Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse, and trailer or building on construction sites.
- On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells, whistles and alarms.
