Strategic Account Specialist
ZAG Interactive is seeking an experienced and strategically minded Embedded Digital Strategist (EDS) to join our Account Management team. This unique role is designed to identify upselling opportunities across our existing client base and bridge the gap between client relationship management and digital strategy. The EDS will work closely with Account Managers to analyze client websites, services, and performance data, to proactively recommend enhancements that align with ZAG’s offerings.
This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced agency setting, has a passion for digital marketing and usability, and possesses a proven track record of delivering strategic insights that drive client growth.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Managers to review client websites and analytics, identifying opportunities for upselling ZAG services such as SEO, Paid Search, ADA compliance, and CMS enhancements
- Develop strategic plans for specific clients to communicate new ideas and cross-selling services tailored to each client’s goals, industry trends and budgets
- Work closely with the Marketing Strategy lead and Business Development team to stay informed on current and upcoming service offerings, ensuring recommendations are aligned with ZAG’s evolving capabilities.
- Coordinate with the Head of Operations to prioritize upsell opportunities that are operationally feasible and strategically aligned with company goals.
- Attend recurring client meetings to provide strategic input and support Account Managers in presenting upsell opportunities
- Maintain updated client notes and strategic recommendations in CRM (Zoho), ensuring visibility across teams
- Collaborate with strategy, design and development teams to align upsell strategies with technical feasibility and creative direction
- Track and report on upsell conversion metrics, client satisfaction, and strategic impact
- Support ZAG’s internal marketing efforts through blog writing, sales support, and strategic ideation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a digital agency or account servicing role.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, .NET CMS platforms (Kentico a plus), and the web development lifecycle
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, design and user experience
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and analytically to solve client challenges.
- Industry knowledge of banking operations, financial products, and emerging trends driving innovation in the financial sector preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Experience with Workfront and Zoho is a plus
- Google Analytics certification or similar credentials preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
