Summary
The Associate Media Director demonstrates critical thinking through strategic media recommendations. This person is involved with aspects of the media planning and buying process across all media channels (broadcast, digital, programmatic, addressable TV, OOH, mobile, print, & audio).

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Lead team in planning execution and innovation (25%)
- Lead and manage all strategic media planning activities associated with assigned account(s) – including digital national & local broadcast tv, video, radio, digital (display, programmatic) and print
- Optimize based on client objectives, and work with Internal brand team and channel teams to ensure all elements of success are utilized
- Achieve the financial goals of the account by managing costs, revenue, and scope of work in accordance with client contract
- Oversee budget allocation process for media and fees across all digital media platforms – including display, mobile, and social; accurately project costs and anticipate the financial results of plan revisions
Client and internal stakeholder manager and primary lead (30%)
- Transfer knowledge, best practices, and HMI vision for buying approaches, analytics and tracking, day-to-day operational management, digital channel allocation, emerging opportunities and new partnerships
- Manage the flow of client media-related needs; create solutions and resolve problems
- Responsible for setting the frequency and consistency of touchpoints with respective mobile, social and programmatic media subject matter experts
Effectively managing team development and process (35%)
- Act as a role model for Media Planning team
- Explore areas for growth within the team across display, mobile, social and video
- Conduct performance reviews for media planning team
- Help develop planning objectives and strategies that coincide with the client’s marketing direction
- Coordinate with HMI Sr. Management and other ADs to share insight on pricing trends, research, campaign learnings, client and vendor relationships and process
- Responsible for ensuring all integrated planning members adhere to mobile, social and programmatic media planning best practices and considerations
Industry/client leadership and insights (10%)
- Serve as an expert on digital marketing and buying practices and thought leader on emerging channels
- Establish and grow a strong relationship with the client through a demonstration of industry knowledge and of the client’s basic business issues
Knowledge and Skills Required
- 6 years of experience in interactive media, marketing, and team management
- Detailed awareness of client business issues, industry trends, consumer trends, promotional resources, market status, and competition
- Experience with Digital Planning & Buying
- Experience with Broadcast TV & Traditional media
- Experience with industry planning tools such as ComScore, Kantar, and MRI/Simmons/Scarborough data
- Experience with Google Marketing Platform (formerly Doubleclick and GA360)
- Self-starter, able to work with a high level of independence
- Strong negotiation and communication skills (written/verbal)
- Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/DSP/Affiliate platforms a plus
- Experience with Search/AdWords a plus
- Proven record of success in leading full service digital accounts and teams
- Strong written, presentation, analytical, quantitative, and verbal skills
- Superior organizational, interpersonal, and managerial skills
- Extensive knowledge of digital media landscape for branding campaigns
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
