Job description
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and interact with children in a safe and compassionate manner
- CHANGE DIAPERS AS NEEDED
- Assist the lead teacher in various ways to help the room run smoothly
- Keep children safe and clean throughout the day
- Implement creative activities to assist with child development
- Create a positive and nurturing environment for children
- Perform a variety of tasks, such as cleaning and sanitizing, interacting and engaging with children,
- Complete and submit required paperwork and forms in a timely manner
- Follow staff handbook policies, regulations and guidelines
- Administer first aid and medication when necessary
- Address children co-workers, parents, and administration in a respectful manner
- Be punctual, reliable, dependent, focused, professional and flexible
- Implement diplomatic skills when addressing the parents and families of the children
- Willingness to perform the responsibilities of the closer for the assigned room
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with childcare or other related fields helpful but not required
- CHANGING DIAPERS WILL BE REQUIRED
- Enjoy working with children
- Be able to engage children in a meaningful, fun, nurturing way
- Ability to build rapport with children and their parents, co-workers and administration
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Possess techniques for classroom management
- Speak, read and write English, fluently
- Be willing to learn about child development
- Clear a fingerprint and background check
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
