Our Bakers have an eagerness to learn and collaborate in the production of all of our pastries & baked goods at Zinc. They must work well within a team, thrive in a busy environment, while constantly striving to make every guest feel at home.

Responsibilities:

Team Member responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Display working knowledge of baking, production of cakes, pastries & baked goods, and kitchen equipment use
• Follow company recipes, portion controls, presentation specifications and prep lists
• Consistently ensure the bakery station remains clean and organized
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and embody an environment of teamwork
• Demonstrate an eagerness to refine skills and desire to learn and grow
• Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines
• Handle varying levels of business volume with composure & a positive attitude
• Perform all opening and closing duties assigned by managers
• Follow all safety and state guidelines for preventing transmission of Covid-19 and other illnesses

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

• A team player with a positive attitude
• Quick and flexible learner
• Communication and collaboration skills
• Attention to detail
• Experience in a prep position is a plus, but not required
• Basic food, kitchen equipment and prepping knowledge
• English proficiency is preferred, but not required
• Food handler’s certification
• Work Authorization: United States Citizen or Undocumented Noncitizen authorized to work in the United States

Work Context:

• Working with hot foods and beverages
• Walking and standing for long periods of time
• Tasks will be performed using and in the proximity of coolers, stoves, and other hot equipment
• The employee may frequently be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch for duration of shift (eight hours or longer)
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move and/or push up to 50 pounds without assistance
• The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a typical office and restaurant environment
