Assistant Controller
Location: Stockton, CA (Onsite)
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 Bonus Benefits

Our client is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join their growing team in Stockton. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will play a critical part in managing daily accounting operations, maintaining financial accuracy, and supporting a high-performing team. What You Will Do
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Own key aspects of the monthly and annual close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and finalizing financials.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and monitor the general ledger, ensuring accurate coding and classification of transactions.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing internal and external financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Journal Entries: Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries related to payroll, prepaids, accruals, inventory, and more.
- Account Reconciliations: Lead the preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Team Oversight: Provide day-to-day support and guidance to the accounting team of 5; assist in task delegation, training, and performance monitoring.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with auditors by preparing required schedules, pulling documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate and improve accounting workflows, controls, and systems for efficiency and compliance.
- Cash Flow Monitoring: Support cash management through tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with the Controller and leadership to support budget development and variance analysis.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
- Direct experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Strong technical and analytical skills; advanced Excel skills preferred
- Prior exposure to leading or mentoring team members in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
- Corporate tax experience or exposure is a plus
- Ability to work onsite in Stockton, CA
Salary : $90,000 - $115,000
