What does a Certified Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist Do?
The Certified Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist operates equipment to produce bypass, coronary perfusion, recirculation or partial bypass, or to alter blood temperature, balance, or content. Sets up and operates heart/lung machines to take on the functions of patient's organs while in surgery. Being a Certified Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist in addition, a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) credential is required. May require an associate's degree or its equivalent. In addition, Certified Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist typically reports to a manager. Certified Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist's year ...s of experience requirement may be unspecified.
