Develops plans and designs for the interior of residential, commercial, or industrial buildings based on the needs of the client. Being an Expert/Principal Interior Designer requires a bachelor's degree, an Architect license. Responsible for planning the use and layout of the space and decorating with color, furniture, fixtures, etc. Develops drawings, presentations, and cost estimates and coordinates the work of contractors .... In addition, Expert/Principal Interior Designer typically reports to a manager or head of unit/department. Working as an Expert/Principal Interior Designer typically requires 10+ years of related experience. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Works autonomously.
