The Riverside Regional Jail promotes public safety by effectively managing individuals (both pretrial and sentenced) in security custody and community corrections for the member jurisdictions Charles City, Chesterfield, Prince George, and Surry Counties, and the Cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell, and Petersburg who present a physical threat to the community or themselves or a risk of not appearing for court hearings.
