The audiologist is expected to educate the community, providers, and community partners about the VTEHDI program, risks for hearing loss, and the necessity of referrals through various outreach opportunities. The audiologist may be involved with direct clinical services and will support pilot projects with primary care physicians. This position is supported in part by grants. EDUCATION: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA)/ the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) or in the process of obtaining certification. Master's Degree required. Eligible for state licensure and CPR certification. EXPERIENCE: Must demonstrate clinical, organizational, and interpersonal competence. Experience with pediatrics preferred. Must have the ability to communicate with families and community providers regarding evaluations and potential follow-up. Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
