JOB DESCRIPTION Summary: We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to perform standard and moderately complex manufacturing engineering tasks focused on enhancing production processes and systems. This role involves the analysis, development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations, ranging from traditional methods to advanced engineering technologies to support the efficient production of the organization’s products. Duties and responsibilities: Establish work standards through accepted time and motion techniques and maintain the work measurement system. Estimate standards and prepare cost estimates on new products or engineering changes as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Justify the value of product cost to customer. Constant analysis of methods and manufacturing processes for improvement, simplification, revision, cost reduction, and utilizing Kaizen. Initiate new and revise existing plant layouts. Audit current standards for changes and improvements in manufacturing processes and to ensure a fair and equitable work measurement program. Initiate new information and maintain current data in both the process routings and bills of material reports. Audit both as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Instruct manufacturing management and hourly employees in the application of industrial engineering programs The Industrial Engineer investigates methods change, layout revision, and cost reduction recommendations. Develop and initiate means of measuring indirect labor and other non-repetitive work. Investigate and evaluate designated manufacturing problems, determine most suitable courses of action to remedy conditions, and make recommendations to the Engineering Manager. Gather, compile, and analyze data and information on manufacturing operations and conduct special studies and projects as directed by Engineering Manager. Participate in safety involvement teams and be constantly aware of safety considerations in all activities. The Industrial Engineer performs other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Study, institute and maintain efficient and safe work practices, procedures, facilities; by coordinating with the Human Relations Department and Manufacturing Engineering Department and keep them abreast of all safety and efficiency requirements in order to maintain an accident-free, high efficiency plant operation. Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma, GED, or Engineering Degree At least five (5) years in methods, standards and manufacturing processes, preferably automotive industry AutoCAD experience MODAPTS experience desired Experience in Material Flow and Kanban Familiar with MES or an other system that tracks proficiency Robotics and PLC experience ( Highly preferred ) PRIMARY LOCATION Bridgewater Interiors II Adient (NYSE: ADNT) is a global leader in automotive seating.
