JOB DESCRIPTION
Customer Care Service Technician
Reports to: Customer Care Manager
General Expectations:
This is an integral position responsible for correspondence with retailers and subsequent occupants of the homes. This position must have great interpersonal skills in relating with customers and provide a servant minded World Class customer experience. The technician should specialize in all aspects of general construction and have superior repair knowledge and skills. Must use good judgement when utilizing company vehicles and property.

Appearance must be neat, clean with no torn or worn out clothing. There will be no offensive language or gestures while in the presence of our retailers & customers. The vehicle must be clean and organized inside and out. The technician is the “face” of the Clayton Customer Care Department & must reflect a positive attitude & respect for the customer, retailer, Clayton, the home and the repairs.
Travel
This position requires 100% travel with overnight stays Monday through Friday. All hotel stays and meals paid by Clayton Homes. This position will allow for overtime pay (After 40 hours).
Duties / Responsibilities
Repair or Replacement of all materials used in the construction of the homes: Flooring, walls, roofing, texture, cabinetry & countertops, siding, trim, underbelly, fixtures etc. Must be able to do minor electrical or plumbing work.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:
Very high attention to detail and accuracy in repairs, clean up, follow up and paperwork. Highly skilled with handling any service or parts questions & ability to offer resolutions. Must have the ability to troubleshoot problems and execute solutions with precise actions for a positive outcome. Superior technical knowledge and skills with proper methods of repairs. Ability to kneel, climb, and perform work on knees under homes in all weather. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repetitively. Ability to be on his/her feet (standing and walking) for up to 4 hours at a time. Ability to perform a job that includes repetitive stooping and bending. Ability to perform a job that includes repetitive crouching and crawling, pushing and pulling. Ability to be on his/her hands and knees for extended periods of time. Ability to climb in/out of homes as well as under homes. Ability to use stairs and ladders repetitively. Performing squeezing the trigger of a staple/nail gun that weighs in a range of 1 – 3 lbs. for up to 8 hours.
Education and Qualifications:
Previous Manufactured housing and/or Customer service experience. Previous construction background. Must pass DOT physical and driver qualification requirements.
