POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant Investor Reporting position exists to maintain controls and ensure accuracy of external investor reports, investor guidelines, and related account analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Queries and analyzes loans and other data from the AS/400 for various ad hoc analysis.
- Works with IT programming for various improvements or projects supporting Investor Reporting area.
- Assists Investor Reporting team in resolving issues identified in daily and monthly reporting activities.
- Comprehends general ledger entries and loan account analysis related to securitized or serviced loan activity.
- Communicates with all levels of management, investors, and trustees regarding reporting questions and cash distributions.
- Trains and mentors new and current team members through Investor Reporting processes and procedures.
- Interprets documentation and guidelines defining securitization structure or GSE requirements.
- Creates and maintains detailed management reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year degree required with an emphasis in either accounting finance, or relatable field.
- Must have 4-6 years’ experience in the field or in a related area.
- Must have 1 year of leadership/management experience.
- Exhibits high level of judgment and discretion.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via phone, email and person to person.
- Capable of gathering facts accurately, analyze causes, evaluate alternate solutions and arrive at sound conclusions on action to be taken.
- Ability to manage multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities.
- Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- 90% communication methods completed over the phone. Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.
- Ability to identify and assess account status and determine appropriate process.
- Constantly works in an indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
