Job Title: Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Job Summary: Our new Adult Day Center is seeking a highly motivated Personal Care Assistant to lead and facilitate engaging and stimulating activities, exercises, and crafts for our senior clients. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in guiding group activities for seniors and will have the ability to think creatively to design and implement new activities. Additionally, the Personal Care Assistant will assist with meal preparation duties and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate engaging and stimulating activities, exercises, and crafts for seniors
  • Design and implement new activities that are appropriate for our senior clients
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and adjust as needed
  • Assist with meal preparation duties
  • Assist clients with ADLs as needed, including toileting assistance
  • Monitor and document the progress of clients participating in activities
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients and staff
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall success of the Adult Day center
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in guiding group activities for seniors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think creatively and design new activities
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, bending, and lifting
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification)
  • Background check required
