Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide support and assistance to individuals in their homes or care facilities. The PCA will help clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while promoting independence and dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients with mobility, including transferring in and out of bed or chairs and using mobility aids.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals and assist clients with feeding as needed.
- Medication Reminders: Remind clients to take medications as prescribed and assist with basic health monitoring (e.g., checking blood pressure).
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship, engaging clients in conversation and activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing, to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Transportation: Assist clients with transportation to appointments or social activities, ensuring they reach destinations safely.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services provided and any changes in the client’s condition, reporting relevant information to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in personal care or health services is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as a PCA, caregiver, or in a similar role preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work compassionately with diverse populations.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred; PCA certification or Home Health Aide certification is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily in clients' homes or residential care facilities, which may involve exposure to various environmental conditions.
- May require flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
