Position Title: Home Delivered Meals Program Manager
Supervisor: Center Director
FLSA Job Status: Not Exempt
Job Summary
The Home Delivered Meals Program Manager has the responsibility of managing the Home Delivered Meals Program.
Performance Requirements
Maintain the integrity of the Home Delivered Meals Program, by promoting the mission and core values of the organization while performing job functions. Abide by the organization’s policies and procedures, including confidentiality standards.
Essential Job Functions
1. The Home Delivered Meals Program Manager shall be responsible for the operations and general management of the program, including the following:
a. Obtain authorizations from managed care organizations (MCOs) for meals for current and prospective clients.
b. Manage/monitor the performance of the delivery drivers.
c. Create/update daily client lists for the drivers and kitchen staff.
d. Create monthly menus for the Home Delivered Meals Program and the Adult Day
Center according to the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.
2. The Home Delivered Meals Program Manager shall be responsible for the management of fiscal resources:
a. Develop and operate within the monthly budget.
b. Ensure that all funds, physical assets, and the other property of the organization are appropriately safeguarded and administered.
c. Oversee the ordering of food and supplies for the program.
3. The Home Delivered Meals Program Manager shall be responsible for community relations:
a. Participate in community planning with particular reference to the Home Delivered
Meals Program.
b. Establish and coordinate ongoing public relations.
c. Represent the organization in professional and community activities.
4.Assist with management/monitoring the performance of the delivery drivers and kitchen staff.
5. Monitor delivery routes and delivery times.
Qualifications
1. Absolute integrity and sufficient maturity to handle the confidential aspects of this
position.
2. Capable of using own initiative and good judgement and being able to be depended
upon.
3. A demonstrated competence in administration and leadership.
4. One of the following:
a. Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two
years food or health related services management experience.
b. A high school diploma or GED equivalent with minimum of 4 years
experience in food or health related service setting. Skills to work with aging or
functionally impaired adults and management experience.
5. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge and Abilities
1. Strong written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills
2. Ability to lead and direct others
3. Ability to work 40 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends as
needed
