Vice President of Tax

Our client is an asset management firm. They seek a Vice President of Tax to join their Real Estate group in their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Manage the tax functions of commercial mortgage loan platforms for funds and accounts
• Evaluate and document the tax implications of debt refinancing and restructuring
• Assess tax matters on the establishment of funds, feeder entities, holding companies, etc.
• Work with Acquisitions to advise on the best company structures to maximize tax efficiencies
• Perform tax modeling for new / existing funds, acquisition / dispositions, and internal financings
• Ensure accurate filing of federal / state tax filing for all vehicles and K-1 reporting to investors
• Uphold compliance with REIT-specific tax requirements, including REIT income and asset tests
• Prepare quarterly investor income tax forecasts, estimated income tax payments, etc.
• Research, analyze, document, and support tax positions for audit requirements
• Oversee and review the quarterly tax provision prepared by the external advisors
