Job Summary:
SmartSource’s largest fulfillment location, Las Vegas, currently has an opportunity for an experienced individual to fill the role of Warehouse Technician. As a Warehouse Technician, your primary responsibility will be planning and executing the preparation of outbound shipments to customers and other SmartSource locations across the United States. You will also work with our inbound teams to accurately receive customer orders and other inbound shipments. As well as testing such equipment to ensure it meets company standards before being returned to stock. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing inventories, warehousing, and other related functions as needed. This position requires strong attention to detail and good communication skills. Previous experience shipping, receiving, and warehousing in a high-volume environment is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipments to other Smart Source Branches, job site, or Customers.
- Ensure equipment is complete, accurate, and safely packed for shipping.
- Determine method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, rates, and routes.
- Schedule freight and package pickups with shipping carriers.
- Ensure branch inventory transactions are accurately recorded in the company operating system.
- Accurately receive product into inventory.
- Maintain physical organization of the warehouse.
- Maintain inventory control system ensuring all stock movements are properly tracked and accounted for.
- Keep the warehouse in a clean and organized state.
- Participate in regular inventory cycle count program.
- Convey materials and items from receiving to production areas or storage as needed.
- Quality control inbound technology checking for damages, test, clean and return stock to designated area.
- Participate in continuous improvement/ 6s activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year warehouse experience
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Experience operating standup forklift, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Ability to think and work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations.
- A desire to continually improve performance and take it to the next level.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check.
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office.
- Must hold a valid Nevada driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Requires loading/unloading of company vehicles.
