What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position at Abilities, LLC?
A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with Abilities is responsible for assisting the Abilities Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in Applied Behavior Analysis services. An RBT typically delivers face-to-face ABA therapy to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/ or Developmental Disabilities. Our primary goal is to improve the independence of our individuals by teaching them adaptive skills while minimizing problematic behaviors. It can be very rewarding. If you are not certified already, we will facilitate your training.
Ideal candidates will be energetic and enthusiastic about the applied behavior analysis field and may have a background in education, psychology, applied behavior analysis, special education, social work, or therapy.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Have a valid driver's license
- Pass a background check
- Pass a drug screen
- Have a minimum of six months experience working with people with developmental disabilities
Training
Abilities will provide and pay for all required training to become an RBT:
- Applicants must be able to complete a 40-hour RBT training
- Pass the RBT exam from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
- CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens
- Crisis Intervention & Prevention (CPI)
Physical Requirements
- Be able to walk, sit, use stairs, stoop, bend, lift, push, pull, and perform trained restraints (if needed)
- Be able to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time, able to type, use a computer mouse, and phone
- Be able to work with individuals with developmental disabilities during moments of crisis
Pay
- If you are not currently a RBT:
- $18.00/hour during training (RBT courses, taking exam, and training with Lead RBT)
- $18.00/hour during training (RBT courses, taking exam, and training with Lead RBT)
- Once you are a licensed RBT:
- $20.00/hour
- If you are already a licensed RBT at the time of hire:
- $21.50/hour
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday-Friday (will be scheduled times between 8am-8pm, maximum 8 hours per day)
- Six paid holidays
- No weekends
