Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and driven Network Engineer to join our team in Grass Valley, CA. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on supporting and developing high-performance networking systems in a demanding, latency-sensitive environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in configuring and troubleshooting complex networks across multiple platforms, with a focus on high-bandwidth and video-over-IP workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain robust network infrastructures supporting Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
- Troubleshoot networking issues across multiple systems and platforms with a focus on low latency and high throughput.
- Configure and manage network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Implement and support VLANs, multicast routing, and video over IP protocols (e.g., SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, RTP).
- Work with high-speed networking hardware, including Arista and Netgear platforms.
- Utilize command line tools for setup, configuration, and diagnostics of network infrastructure.
- Ensure performance, reliability, and security in networks supporting up to 100Gb throughput.
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, and media systems teams to support production-critical networking needs.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with complex network configurations in multi-OS environments (Windows, Linux, Mac).
- Advanced knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, IGMP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with VLANs, multicast traffic, and video over IP workflows.
- Familiarity with high-speed physical networking (10Gb/40Gb/100Gb Ethernet).
- Strong command-line interface (CLI) skills for network device configuration and diagnostics.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot network bottlenecks, latency issues, and multi-system interactions in real time.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNA certification (or equivalent knowledge and experience).
- Hands-on experience with Arista and Netgear networking equipment.
- Background in broadcast, media technology, or video transport systems is a strong plus.
Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
