What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bim Technician position at Actalent?
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and Maintaining Accurate 3D Models: BIM Technicians create and maintain accurate 3D models for all stages of project development. These models serve as digital blueprints, providing essential information for planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
- Producing Detailed Drawings from BIM Models: They use specialized software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and other 3D modeling tools to produce detailed drawings. These drawings help translate the digital models into practical construction plans.
- Ensuring Compliance with Industry Standards and Project Requirements: BIM Technicians ensure that all models adhere to industry standards, building codes, and specific project requirements. Accuracy and precision are critical.
- Coordinating Model Data and Integration: They collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to coordinate model data. Effective integration ensures seamless collaboration among team members.
- Assisting in Troubleshooting and Providing Technical Support: BIM Technicians troubleshoot issues related to BIM software and provide technical support to colleagues when needed.
Tasks and Duties:
- Creating and revising drawings and documentation using BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and other 3D modeling tools).
- Conducting clash detection tasks to identify and resolve conflicts within the BIM models.
- Participating in meetings to discuss and resolve matters related to model accuracy and project requirements.
- Maintaining project documentation to ensure up-to-date project status and compliance.
- Creating visualizations of future buildings for client approvals and regulatory bodies.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- An associate’s degree or technical degree in a relevant field such as computer-aided design (CAD), engineering, or architecture.
- Proficiency in BIM software, particularly Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Understanding of construction processes, building codes, and drafting techniques.
