What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Actalent?
Description:
Execute and facilitate the purchase requisition and purchase order process for R&D and indirect requirements Coordinate with scientists and engineers to assure accuracy of purchased items and their specifications, determine alternate equivalent items when necessary Basic communication with vendors regarding specs, prioritization, shipping discrepancies, etc. Assist in vendor and material data maintenance in ERP system Work with finance and accounting to resolve pricing/invoicing discrepancies Assist with shipping logistics/receiving when necessary
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1-2 years work/internship experience in a similar role in the biotech/life science industry Familiarity with biology/chemistry lab equipment and consumables, reagents, chemicals Experience using an ERP system for procurement and inventory management (NetSuite preferred)
