Chemical Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Lab Technician who will be responsible for performing quality control testing on finished product material and incoming raw material. The role involves running tests such as titrations, refractory index, viscosity, and sand testing, as well as working with instrumentation like an auto titrator, refractive index, and some GC work. The technician will also assist with certificates of analysis and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality control testing on finished product material and incoming raw material
• Perform tests such as titrations, refractory index, viscosity, and sand testing
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including auto titrator, refractive index, and GC equipment
• Assist in preparing certificates of analysis
• Enter and manage data accurately

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in chemistry, biology, physics, and lab science
• Experience in titrations, quality control, and sample testing
• Knowledge of viscosity, refractive index, and gas chromatography
• Competence with laboratory instruments such as Brookfield viscometer and auto titrator
• Ability to conduct refractory index and sand testing

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or associate’s degree with significant experience in chemical manufacturing
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent team player

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility and involves working in the quality lab. The lab environment includes working with various testing instruments and requires adherence to safety protocols.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
