Job Title: Chemist

Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level Chemist to perform a variety of routine and non-routine tasks in a regulated laboratory environment to support and help develop pharmaceutical platforms. The Chemist will work in conformance with company policies and current Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) regulatory requirements and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements. The individual will perform procedures for process/analysis and assist their manager and peers with routine and non-routine Quality Control and Research procedures.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all quality system requirements.
• Perform preparation, collection, measurement, and recordkeeping of samples.
• Document test and data analysis results.
• Participate on cross-functional teams for continuous improvement activities.
• Communicate with team members to ensure schedule requirements are met.
• Apply knowledge of performed tasks to elucidate test method failures.
• Analyze and deduce data, collating test results.
• Communicate priority and timeliness for completion of customer requests.
• Help drive the team to meet business goals.
• Support development area as needed, including commercial QC release.
• Learn and understand the manufacturing organization that the lab supports.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related science.
• 1-2 years of experience within analytical instrumentation - HPLC, FTIR, GC.
• GMP/GLP experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Expertise in analytical test method development and validation: HPLC and GC.
• Expertise with analytical instrumentation: HPLC, GPC, GC-FID/MS, FT-IR, and UV-Vis.
• Experience using chromatography software: Empower and LIMS.
• Experience in R&D within medical device or pharmaceutical industries.
• Proficiency in wet chemistry and analytical chemistry.
