Job Description
Our client, a global animal health company dedicated to serving veterinarians, livestock producers, and people who raise and care for farm and companion animals in more than 100 countries, is seeking a Chemist to support method transfer and validation activities for their newest manufacturing facility. This role will support the growing monoclonal antibody and vaccine portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory experiments supporting analytical method transfer.
- Perform processes and operate equipment required for large-scale monoclonal antibody (mAb) production.
- Utilize various modern analytical tools and technologies (e.g., U/HPLC, GC, MS, dissolution, particle size analysis).
- Maintain equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
- Understand, follow, and accurately complete process documentation to maintain a high level of product quality.
- Adhere to safety policies.
- Collaborate effectively with members of other departments.
Essential Skills
- 3-5 years of chemistry experience.
- Proficiency in HPLC, GC, and EMPOWER 3 software.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries.
- Knowledge of GxP, GMP, and GLP practices.
- Strong experience in laboratory quality control and analytical chemistry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- BS in Biological Sciences or a related field.
- Previous experience in large-scale production or laboratory scale.
- In-depth understanding and knowledge of applications of various modern analytical tools and technologies, including modern techniques for separation science (e.g., HPLC, NMR, GC, LC/MS, Dissolution).
- Good understanding of quality requirements in analytical support for clinical supplies and manufacturing transfer work.
- Good understanding of chemistry and formulation processes.
- Excellent documentation skills for recording research work and ability to summarize results and data.
- Practical analytical experience working with active pharmaceutical ingredients and related dosage forms.
- A track record of analytical problem-solving and method development is desired.
- Basic understanding of the pharmaceutical development process.
Work Environment
The position will be based at a brand new facility in Lithia Springs, which is currently under construction. The labs will be completed by January. The role will support method transfer testing in the chemistry lab. The candidate must be comfortable with traveling to Kalamazoo, Michigan in 2025 for 2 weeks of training, not consecutively.
