Job Title: Clerk of the Works / Construction Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a facilities construction inspector and project controls manager, also known as a 'Clerk of the Works', for a capital improvements project located in Charlottesville, VA. As a Project Inspector, you will serve as a representative of the Owner and take responsibility for performing duties, observations, and services as required. Administrative duties may also be assigned to support the Project Inspector.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough construction inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Manage project controls and oversee project progress.
• Perform administrative tasks in support of project inspection.
• Represent the Owner in all matters related to construction and project management.
• Ensure adherence to building codes and safety regulations.
• Facilitate continuous improvement in construction processes.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in construction and construction inspection.
• Experience in concrete and commercial construction.
• Project management skills.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Understanding of the VA CPSM.
• Experience as a state project manager or Clerk of the Works.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong clerical and communication skills.
• Understanding of construction and submittal processes.
• Knowledge of building codes.
• Ability to read building plans and drawings.

Work Environment

The role is onsite in Charlottesville daily, offering a fantastic opportunity to join a two-year project with potential for vertical growth alongside a long-term repeat client.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.37 - $52.28/hr.
