What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cmt Technician position at Actalent?
Description:
This is an on-site CMT Technician role. This person will be working directly with the Project Engineer as the on-site contact for all construction materials testing and placement of construction materials for the project site. Daily duties include:
- Field observation and testing during placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry.
- Soil and concrete lab testing.
- Facilitating contractor relationships.
- Assisting another junior-level technician on site.
- Letter writing, reporting, and reviewing contractor documents and reports from technicians.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Most projects will last 1 year until completion.
- After project is completed, candidate will be required to travel as needed to new project sites located in the Southeast.
- Project durations vary and this role travels to where the work is.
- Must be willing to work outside in the elements and the ability to lift up to 50 to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Typical construction hours. Schedule is M-F (10 hour workday average) with Saturday work involved, depending on the workload.
