Job Title: Programmer

Job Description

This position is responsible for creating models, CNC programs, and designing fixtures for parts from customer-supplied blueprints. Additionally, the role involves designing and maintaining developed drawings, as well as creating, maintaining, and updating detailed setup and work instructions for machine shop applications.

Responsibilities

• Follow a job from inception to completion, including designing fixtures and programming the machine.
• Create models and CNC programs.
• Design fixtures for parts based on customer blueprints.
• Maintain and update detailed setup and work instructions for machine shop applications.
• Optimize CNC programs to meet estimated times.
• Work with a team to ensure precision and quality in manufacturing processes.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Mastercam and Solidworks.
• Strong experience in fixture design and GD&T.
• Expertise in CNC programming, especially with lathe machines.
• At least 5 years of experience in Solidworks and Mastercam.
• 7-10 years of experience with horizontal mills or lathes, with a preference for lathe experience.
• Experience programming machines in a metal fabrication environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a relevant field.
• Strong communication skills and a team mentality.
• Experience with Multi-Spindle Lathe or Swiss Programming is preferred.
• Familiarity with other programming software is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is a full-service contract manufacturing setting specializing in precision metal parts for various applications, predominantly in the defense sector. The company operates in a clean machine shop. Work hours are from 7 am to 3:30 pm, and the dress code is business casual, including button-downs, khakis, and slacks. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $45.00
