What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cnc Programmer position at Actalent?
Description:
We are seeking a CNC programmer to utilize CAD/CAM software to program and/or operate conventional, special purpose and numerical control (NC) mills and lathes and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
-working with steel/ aluminum is preferred
-medium size aerospace companies (80-100 people so the person is familiar with multi-tasking)
**there will be a lot of administrative/Engineering processes that go into this position
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-Must have the ability to set up machines as required
-Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
-Gathers and analyzes information skillfully
-The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
-5 years prior manual machining experience and working knowledge of CNC machines and controls preferred
-Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
-Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry
-Certifica-Creates support documentation such as set-up plans, flow charts, tool lists, inspection method sheets, as well as special fixture and tool designs
-Proves out new and updated CNC programs for accuracy and efficiency
-Trains shop floor personnel in the intricacies of the operation
-tight tolerance under .001te for CAM software training is preferred
