What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Coordinator position at Actalent?
The Construction Project Coordinator (CPC) will be supporting new customer construction projects with one of the state’s largest utilities. The CPC will be the direct point of contact for customers, expected to communicate early, often, effectively, and always pleasant, contributing to a best-in-class customer experience. CPC will be responsible for owning the project post approved design, leading the project through execution (planning, scheduling, construction, energization, as-builts, restoration, and closeout) working closely with internal stakeholders including land/right-of-way, inspection services, meter services, crew schedulers/planners, operations, vegetation management, GIS mapping, and others. CPC will be the single point of contact for customers, municipalities, contractors, and internal construction groups for projects including new installations (residential and commercial), streetlighting, system upgrades, conversions, and relocation projects tied to electrical distribution services. CPC will be accountable for ensuring all steps of the project process are completed, considering timeliness and responsiveness to internal or external customers; effectively prioritizes and balances multiple tasks and projects to meet customer expectations; interprets and coordinates work with other internal departments to fulfill project requirements; generally works independently but receives some direct supervision. Fulfills project requirements consistent with company tariff, design standards, NESC requirements and applicable codes.
The right candidate will be able to function in a fluid environment and have consistent communication with the team. This individual will be provided with a vehicle and visit construction sites to assist with project duties. This person will also be involved with:
• Evaluate needs for easements and/or permits
• Verify field readiness for work execution
• Verify material is adequate and available for in-time construction
• Schedule field work orders to meet in-service expectations
• Update status, tasks, and dates in Work-Management System (Maximo)
• Communicate with external and internal agencies on status
• Responds to questions from stakeholders; may provide information to newer team members.
• Trouble shoot and resolve design issues with consultation with internal design support
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field and one (1) year project management related experience with knowledge of transmission or distribution construction requirements and practices ; OR an Associate Degree in a related discipline with three (3) years construction/customer project related experience with knowledge of transmission or distribution construction requirements and practices; OR High School Diploma and five (5) years related combined experience in design or construction project management; OR equivalent combination of education and related design or construction project management experience. A valid driver’s license is required.
