About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-driven Technical Writer to join our team on a contract basis. You’ll play a crucial role in creating comprehensive product manuals for two major projects. These manuals—ranging from 100 to 300 pages—will combine CAD files, photography, and written instruction tailored to individual customer needs. Your documentation will help bridge engineering excellence with customer clarity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop technical manuals customized for specific clients
- Edit and enhance existing documentation
- Integrate CAD files, diagrams, and images into user guides
- Collaborate with engineering teams to collect technical details
- Take photographs as needed for visual content
- Ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency throughout documentation
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, particularly in engineering or manufacturing sectors
- Strong proficiency in technical writing, editing, and document organization
- Familiarity with CAD files and industrial documentation practices
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing work instructions or operating procedures
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Comfortable gathering information both on the production floor and from desk-based resources
Work Environment
This position includes some time on the shop floor for information gathering and photography, but most tasks are completed at a desk. Flexibility for partial remote work is available.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
