Job Description

This engineering firm is seeking a skilled designer to apply company/client policies and procedures for the development of site designs for overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities. Their power delivery team continues to grow due to an influx in project business with Duke Energy supporting their distribution work. The role involves reconductoring, conversions, cable replacement, and customer and reliability jobs. Additional responsibilities are listed below:

Job Responsibilities:

• Complete site visits for field notes, visual inspection, equipment inventory, measurements, and field conditions using electronic tools.
• Prepare site drawings and construction sketches using MicroStation and GNetviewer, ensuring cost-effective installations that maximize safety and service reliability.
• Prepare project or job packages in Expert Designer and BOUD (Duke's design software), including material estimates and requisitions.
• Maintain accurate records, updating GIS systems, and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience in drafting/design
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, management and customers
• Desires a team based environment and can work cohesively with team members on a variety of projects and tasks
