Actalent is hiring for a Control Engineer for a client of ours in Nashville.

Description:
•This person will be the Continuous Improvement driver for all of the Control Systems at the sort centers. They will have to identify opportunity in the existing systems that bring innovation to current automation OR apply automation to existing control systems. This person will be the technical representative to review PLC Code and suggest modifications to the on-site controls team for implementation. They will need to be good at analyzing data across multiple locations to find common themes/trends in PLC code that could 1) be standardized or 2) common root causes for rework that they can try to prevent in new sites being build. Will be helping with creating control systems templates for all sites. They will be part of a team that consults the material handling sites to drive innovation in automation and controls across the board.
•Work independently with internal and external engineering teams to successfully deliver cross-functional projects that are of a high-quality (e.g., on-time, on-budget, maintainable, low-defects, etc.).
•Partner with project managers and external vendors to set project priorities, establish milestones, and drive schedules to meet a deadline.
•Influence technical documentation content, perform documentation review, dive deep into system layouts and solutions.
•Competently represent system and/or equipment designs to both customers and other teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other STEM field.
•4 years of experience as a controls engineer, electrical engineer, process engineer, project manager, or related occupation.
•Experience with managing material handling or automation projects.
•Design and/or implementation experience of the electrical and or controls areas of integrated automation solutions, such as material handling systems, high-speed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines.
