Description:
Progeny Systems Corporation is a high-tech business focusing on software and hardware system integration, cutting-edge research and development, and manufacturing. We provide premium systems, services, and products for the Department of Defense, government agencies and commercial clients.
Seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer with 3 to 10 years of technical experience to become an integral member of the engineering team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics and underwater acoustic systems.
- Analyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits including signal conditioning, power, analog-to-digital conversion, and communication
- Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware
- Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems including test software applications
- Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions
- Design, analyze, and test underwater acoustic systems
- Design and build prototype cable assemblies
- Perform solder rework of prototype circuit card assemblies
- Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer
- Generate design and interface documentation
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or similar degree
- 3 to 10 years of experience
- Experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation and test phases
- Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as Ethernet, RS-485, USB, CAN bus, LVDS, and protocols such as TCP and UDP
- Experience in analog and digital circuit design including signal integrity principles
- Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including: creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture experience a plus), and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc.
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Experience with the following a plus: navigation systems, and MATLAB programming
