What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Chemist position at Actalent?
Job Description:
- QC Chemist will conduct chemical, physical and performance testing to support the chemical manufacturing process.
- They will analyze raw materials, in-process materials and finished product samples.
- Perform data entry, generate and file records, set up lab equipment, perform calibrations and recommend/initiate corrective actions for lab and product non-conformance.
- Testing includes: colorimetry, UV Vis, IR, titrations (auto and manual), viscosity, turbidity, Karl Fischer, digital density, melting and freezing point, GC, LC-MS and atomic absorption.
- After conducting the specific tests the chemists will analyze and record to Excel or SAP.
Skill & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical Technology (would consider Associates Degree depending on experience)
- 0-2 years of chemistry experience in school or industry
- Basic chemistry skills from school or industry experience
- Understanding of wet chemistry
- Able to follow directions and procedures
- Preferred experience: Chemical experience, Familiarity with GC, titrations, HPLC, LC-MS, Karl Fischer and viscosity
