Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Job Description

The Field Service Engineer will assist the Engineering team in testing, troubleshooting, installing, and commissioning machines for our customers. Additionally, the Field Service Engineer will provide services for our existing machines in the field.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites.
• Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs (mostly) and some Siemens PLCs and drives.
• Install and commission automation machinery in mills.
• Receive training to program from scratch to enhance proficiency.

Essential Skills

• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs.
• PLC troubleshooting.
• Commissioning automation machinery.
• Reading electrical schematics.
• Electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with servomotors and servo drives.
• Installation of automation machinery.
• Customer service skills.
• Experience with HMI and AC/DC motors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a similar field) with 2-3 years of field experience OR an Associate's Degree in Electrical (or a similar field) with 2 years of field service experience.
• Experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs or similar PLCs.
• Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, or ABB drives.
• Experience in the metal, steel, or aluminum industry is a plus.

Work Environment

The position requires approximately 75% travel, with potential travel up to a month at a time, followed by a few weeks off. The largest concentration of customers is on the eastern end of the U.S. including locations such as Pittsburgh, Indiana, Cleveland, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Mississippi, and Texas. It is extremely rare to work outside of the U.S. Engineers have the option to use a company vehicle or use their own vehicle and get reimbursed at $0.56/mile. Eligible for a per diem of $55/day. The role cannot be performed remotely and requires presence in Cleveland when not traveling. The work environment is family-based, with a supportive atmosphere where even the owners are involved in engineering projects. Training will be provided by experienced and decorated engineers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.08
