Research and Development Lab Technician

M-F 8am-4pm OR 9am-5pm

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Food Technologist/Laboratory Technician to join our team. In this role, you will aid in ingredient applications and functionality evaluations, contributing to the development of new ingredient technology for food and beverage products. You will conduct bench top and pilot plant trials, perform functional and sensory evaluations, and ensure the safety and organization of the laboratory.

MUST HAVES

• BS in Food Sciences or similar field
• 2 years of experience in a food product development lab
• Understanding of microbiology and it's application to food safety
• Experience in functional evaluations of new ingredients
• Perform sensory testing of prototypes
• Perform shelf-life and stability evaluations
• Submit prototypes for analytical testing
• Write progress reports
• Maintain and organize laboratory and supplies

Work Environment

This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn alongside the Fermentation and Biotechnology team, supporting technical platforms and assisting with ingredient technology development work streams. The schedule is 40 hours per week, either 8:00am-4:00pm or 9:00am-5:00pm CST.
