Job Description

Engage deeply with business teams to identify opportunities and translate needs into innovative and practical AI/ML solutions. Design, build, and deploy state-of-the-art AI/ML models to solve complex business problems. Understand key performance levers and metrics to highlight AI/ML solution operational issues and drive improvement. Collaborate closely with engineers and infrastructure partners to implement robust and scalable solutions. Communicate results and insights effectively to partners and senior leaders, providing clear and actionable recommendations. Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in AI, GenAI, and data science. Regularly research and present new ideas to improve the team's technical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Engage deeply with business teams to identify opportunities and translate needs into innovative and practical AI/ML solutions.
• Design, build, and deploy state-of-the-art AI/ML models to solve complex business problems.

Essential Skills

• Experience in AI system development, foundational model lifecycle training, retrieval of augmented systems, and model evaluation.
• Proficiency in large language models (LLMs) architecture, creating targeted instruction datasets, and implementing quantization and inference optimizations.
• Ability to cover problem definition, data acquisition, and full-cycle deployment, utilizing tools like MLflow, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
• Experience with proprietary models like GPT-4 and open-source models like Llama and Mistral, delivering high-performing, scalable, and cost-efficient AI solutions.
• Proficiency with NLP libraries like NLTK, spaCy, GPT-3, BERT, and Hugging Face's Transformers to create sophisticated natural language processing solutions.
• Expertise in Python, AI/ML infrastructure, model deployment, and MLOps.
• End-to-end GenAI application experience.
• Knowledge in RAG, prompt engineering, LoRA, and other GenAI techniques.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA. It works on a hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings, and meetings to ensure teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $130.00
