Job Title: Manufacturing Scientist - Upstream and Pilot Plant Developments

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Scientist to lead upstream manufacturing and pilot plant developments from bench scale to pilot plant scale. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working with mammalian cell cultures, including CHO and HEK cells, and will support tech transfer and scale-up activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 15-20 individuals in upstream manufacturing and pilot plant developments.
• Define and optimize specific processes to scale up manufacturing.
• Ensure successful transition from bench scale to pilot plant scale.
• Interact with end-users to make determinations about group direction, KPIs, and metrics.
• Support tech transfer and scale-up activities.

Essential Skills

• Experience with mammalian cell culture, specifically CHO and HEK cells.
• Proficiency in cell culture, USP, upstream manufacturing, pilot plant operations, scale-up, and tech transfer.
• Knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and bioreactor operations.
• Minimum of 2 years of successful independent leadership experience, including team succession planning, schedule management, and KPI monitoring.
• Proficiency with ELN and Microsoft Suite.
• Client service orientation with effective communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• B.S. degree with 5 years of experience, M.S. degree with 4 years of experience, or Ph.D. with 3 years of experience, plus leadership experience.

Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite, working a Monday to Friday first shift schedule from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The work environment is business casual, and strong leadership skills are essential to manage a team with diverse personality types.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
