Description:
This Mechanical Design Engineer will join the MEP design and engineering team of a multi-discipline Architecture & Engineering firm. They will work on projects specializing in the design for MEP / building mechanical systems within the commercial and healthcare markets - This will include HVAC and plumbing design, fire protection systems, and other building mechanical systems. The Mechanical Design Engineer will report to the VP of Engineering for projects and daily objectives. They will be involved daily in MEP design and production objectives such as design development, schematic design, and construction administration. Projects include surgery centers, medical clinics, hospitals, and various commercial buildings.
Responsibilities Include:
Utilization of knowledge within building systems and construction techniques
Prepare building models, detailed construction documents, equipment & ductwork sizing, load analysis, hydronic system design, and specifications
Design of building MEP systems using Revit and/or AutoCAD
Coordination with project teams for changes to project design, scope, schedule, and budget
Project management involvement
Development of project documents such as calculations, construction drawings and specifications)
Communication with vendors, consultants, and project team members
Assisting in establishing project fees and project budgets
Utilization of applicable codes and regulations
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MUST HAVE:
3 years in Mechanical Engineering/Design for building MEP systems with an Architecture & Engineering firm/environment
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited program
3 years of experience with Revit for mechanical design projects within Healthcare or Commercial
PLUS:
Licensed PE
