Description:
The Mechanical Designer position is responsible for modeling and drawing generation of a wide range of mechanical hardware and components designed for use in elevator systems. The candidate should not only be adept at handling typical design tasks (modeling and detailing), but must be able to effectively communicate cross-functionally. The designer will be member of the Design Services Group operating out of Florence South Carolina that is home to the North American System Elevator Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain operations.
Responsibilities:
Provide design support to internal and external customers
Modify and develop new component solutions to increase product robustness
Support and resolve engineering issues
Develop component and system level models and drawings
Support cost reduction efforts
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
2 years of CREO design/drafting experience
Associates or Bachelors Degree is preferred but not required
Knowledge in manufacturing processes (sheetmetal fabrication, welding, castings and molds, and general machining operations)
Ability to apply GD&T to parts and assemblies per design requirements
